SCTE Expo 2016

Are you planning to attend the SCTE Expo in Philadelphia next week? If so, you just have to make time to visit the PBT booth #1419!! This year, PBT will introduce two new products: our fourth generation site controller, the SC4, and our new low-cost controller, the SCMini-Plus. These new offerings will provide cable operators with functionality never available before.

The SC4 supports all of PBT’s existing battery monitoring system features and also includes an option to enable complete CellMetrix functionality (thermal runaway detection/control). With ten times

the computing power of the SC3, our SC4 uses HTML5 technology (supported by pocket and tablet devices, as well as PC browsers) to provide web-based graphics, like real time color-coded hierarchal tree lists and bar charts previously only available via network management software. Compelling new features also include IP setup and log file retrieval from the web browser (huge time saver), enhanced security protocols such as SNMPv3, SSL and TLS1.1, encryption and more.

Our new SCMini-Plus improves an already great small-scale battery monitoring solution for outside plant cabinets or small closets with active equipment and batteries. Our Mini’s external battery sensor interface is now embedded in the controller, eliminating the need for extra equipment. Configuration has been made very simple, as the unit incorporates its own DHCP client, as well as static IP. Simply hook up a laptop and start configuring the Mini. There is no need for cumbersome proprietary procedures for configuration. And, of course, the price point for the Mini is so attractive, operators are provided a means of visibility that they could never afford before.
