Our Principals

At Phoenix Broadband, we take pride in the range and competency of our key people. From our three Principals through each of our carefully chosen employees, we know how to do it and we have a proven record of getting it done. Our team of industry veteran professionals consists of:

Joe Rocci - Principal

Joe is a 30+ year veteran of the communications industry and a 25+ year veteran of the Cable TV community. Joe started his Cable career with Jerrold (now Motorola) in 1978, where he led  teams that developed the first addressable converter data control system, the industry's first interactive gaming system ("PlayCable"), and the "Jerrold Home Security System". Joe joined AM Communicatons, Inc. in 1983 where he led the development of the industry's first addressable interdicton tap system ("TierGuard"), and co-developed the industry's first and leading HFC network status monitoring system ("OmniStat"). Joe holds several patents related to interactive technology and is well-known and respected at the highest levels of the MSO and OEM communities.

 
Mike Quelly  - Principal

Mike is a 25+ year veteran of the Cable TV industry. Mike started his career in 1978 working at E-COM for the legendary Bob Dickinson on the development of high-speed cable modems and interactive systems. Needless to say, Mike was way ahead of the times! For the last 20 years, Mike has managed the product development process for AM Communications, Inc, a leading supplier of network monitoring and management systems. Mike's many accomplishments include:
  • Development of a hardware/software product line that includes over 300 product solutions.
  • Set up an Asia-based off-shore software development capability
  • Coordinated the transition of all manufacturing to an Asia-based operation

Mike is a founding member of the SCTE's HMS status monitoring standards committee and the holder of several patents related to interactive Cable TV technology. He is very well-known and respected at the highest technical management levels of the industry.

 

Walt Wilczewski  - Principal

Prior to becoming a founder and Principal of Phoenix Broadband, Walt was Vice President of OEM and International Marketing for AM Communications Inc. In this capacity, Walt has been all over the world developing re-seller channels and building relationships with end-use customers. 
As a 20+ year veteran of the Cable TV industry, Walt has extensive field operations experience with a major Cable MSO. Well known by top-level managers at MSO's and OEM's worldwide, Walt brings to Phoenix Broadband a solid understanding of the real-world needs of our customers, combined with excellent personal and business skills.
